Calder has just completed our planned factory expansion by acquiring the adjoining factory premises at Gregory’s bank, Worcester. Adding a further 1300 m² of pump unit assembly and engineering offices to our existing buildings. Calder are well equipped to deal with the recent new contract awards and business growth plans for 2007 & 2008. We look forward to welcoming visitors to tour the new factory.

Contract award for Calder Hazardous area Multijet units

Calder has just been awarded a contract in excess of 1 million (£ sterling) for supply of multiple Zone 1 and Zone 2 ATEX compliant water jetting packages rated at up to 3000 bar. The award, from a major UK based specialist offshore cleaning and maintenance contractor confirms Calder’s position as the leading name manufacturer of high quality offshore hazardous area compliant pump packages.
Contract award on Gjøa project from Aker Kvaerner for Glycol Pump package

Calder Ltd has recently been awarded a 2 Million (£ sterling) contract by Aker Kvaerner in Norway. The contract is for 8 Glycol (MEG) injection Hammelmann pumps driven by electric motors. They are destined for the new build semi-submersible production platform on the Statoil Gjøa field.

Ian Calder-Potts, Calder MD said that “We are delighted to be working with the Aker Kvaerner Group of companies on this prestigious project for Statoil. The contract award represents the oil & gas industry’s recognition of Calder as an accomplished supplier of high pressure process pump packages incorporating Hammelmann hermetically sealed HP pump technology.

Aker Kvaerner are carrying out the detailed design of topside and hull procurement and construction and the hook-up and mating of topside and hull. The contract for Calder came from Aker Kvaerner's office in Oslo which is heading up the detailed engineering.
Pump Unit
Cereal bars - High pressure pumps for varied industrial applications!

Market leading UK breakfast cereal producer has taken delivery of their new Calder pump unit. The unit features a Hammelmann pump rated at 320 bar this electric motor powered pump unit will be used for the process critical cleaning application of cereal die cleaning. Running on two shift production the pump will deliver the cleaning power required to remove blockages from up to 4 extrusion dies every 15 minutes.
Calder Freelance
Sugar rush for Freelance.

Successful trials of the Calder Freelance™ tube cleaning system have provided a UK sugar producer a faster, safer and more consistent cleaning method for their blocked Sugar beet juice evaporators. Traditional manual waterjet flexible lance cleaning has been replaced by use of the Calder Freelance automatic cleaning system. Robot
Second robot offers increased productivity.

A UK car manufacturer has extended the productivity of their existing Calder pump package used for automotive vehicle body carrier cleaning by high pressure waterjet by utilising 2 off 6 axis robots to remove by high pressure waterjet the paintshop overspray from the paintshop carriers. Originally a single robot was installed on site, however the system has been extended to allow two robots to operate simultaneously to offer higher standards of cleanliness and an increased volume of cleaned carriers per hour.

A Leading Australian Waterblasting and offshore fabric maintenance contractor has taken delivery of 2 off Multijet 170kw 3000 bar UHP offshore pump packages and 2 off Multivac offshore Vacuum recovery packages built by Calder. Manufactured in compliance with current ATEX legislation and Australian offshore specifications, the new Calder units provide the latest in hazardous area Waterblast coatings removal and spent water / waste recovery equipment.

UK waste management and industrial services business Veolia UK, have recently taken delivery of the Calder Multijet 170 series pump unit rated at 1000 bar operating pressure. The new Calder unit will be based in a UK refinery complex and is utilised for pipeline, heat exchanger and vessel cleaning applications. Along with this unit delivery, a comprehensive array of waterjet accessories, including jetting guns, 3 dimensional tank cleaning heads and deployment lances have been supplied.
